Cheerleading Skirts

Cheerleading is a physical activity of encouraging and cheering up the crowd through their dances, jumps, stunts and tumbling. This has now become a competitive sport which uses organized routines. This cheerleading activity would last for one to three minutes of duration. The person who is cheerleading is known as the cheerleaders. It was on November 2 1898, that a student of the University of Minnesota directed the crowd in an organized manner to cheer up for the university football match and that was the official start up for the cheerleading activity. Initially they were called as the “Yell leaders”. Though this physical activity was originated from US, now it's well spread across all over the world.

Cheerleading Skirts

Cheerleading Skirts are the uniform outfits worn by the cheerleaders. Their uniform provides the information about the team, school or any group they belong to. Earlier in the 1900's the uniforms were a heavy sweater like garment, with the name of the school or group sewn. In the very beginning girls were not part of the cheerleading activity. It was full of male dominance. It was in the year 1960 girls came into this venture. The earlier outfit was replaced by half skirts and short woolen shirts with their team name sewn on their shirts. 

The fashion world had undergone a metamorphosis state and the outfit of the cheerleaders is no exception. All the woolen garments are outdated. Selecting a Cheerleading uniform is more than picking an attractive colored one.  Comfort has to compliment style in the Cheerleading Skirts. Hence all the uniforms in the current days are made in polyester or polyester spandex blend. This type of clothing provides ease rapid movement. The top – known as shell, brings tight fitting along the body, with long sleeves or no sleeves. Mostly girls wear a sleeveless top with a sports bra or an athletic tank under it.

The different types of skirts available in the market are –

Cheerleading Skirts

A Line – This is the basic skirt style which wraps around the hip

3 Pleat – In the basic skirt 3 frill like structures are made in the front

8, 12, 16 pleats – These are the no. of frilled structures made

Cheerleading Skirts

Fly away pleats – These types of pleats are not attached together at the hem

Pants - Normal pants with wide variety of colors.

Skirts are worn in the bottom with both natural hip style and low hip style. The length and the style of the Cheerleading skirts can be customized by the company upon request.
